Our aerobics, yoga, Pilates mat, and Spinning classes take place in the beautiful, second floor mezzanine workout room:

  • full-length mirrors line two walls
  • climate controlled environment
  • features a suspended hardwood floor for maximum comfort
  • large windows on one side offers natural daylight and on opposite wall is a view of the gym below

Group Fitness Class Descriptions
Effective October 2009

AAA – A class designed to target and strengthen your Abdominals, Arms and Glutes.

ABC – Learn your ABC’s with this effective fitness class targeting and strengthening your abdominals, buttocks and core muscles.

Ball Pilates — A powerhouse of a class! Strengthen core muscles using Pilates method plus a resistance ball. Lean, long and strong is the result.

Bellydancing – A great way to move, tone and increase your fitness while having fun. An ancient folk tradition that will strengthen your core!! Barefoot. Bring your hip scarf.

Bootcamp – Various stations consisting of physically demanding aerobic, anaerobic and functional exercises. Great total body workout that focuses on cardiovascular development, resistance training and the core (Advanced class). All participants must be ailment-free and have a functional training background. (able to do multi-angled complex movements with good form)

Core Rythms – Turn up the heat, rotate your hips, and shimmy your shoulders! Dance to Mid-Eastern, Latin, and Broadway music while you whittle your waist and have lots of fun.

Latin Sculpt– Aerobic/Fitness interval training, body sculpting and easy to follow dance steps—done to upbeat Latin tunes.

Kettlebells – Learn the art of Russian Kettlebell Training. One of the most effective and efficient tools to melt away those extra pounds. Training with bells will give you an edge in overall fitness and endurance. Be prepared to work hard!

Kripalu Yoga – A compassionate practice of movement, postures, breathing and meditation. Space is created to build strength, flexibility and core stability. Learn to listen compassionately to your body’s needs and use class as an opportunity for challenge or rejuvenation. One and a half hours.

On the Move – Experience the toning influences of dance—ballet, jazz, ethnic, Latin, modern and Afro-Caribbean.

Sculpting – Complete muscle conditioning with weights, body bars, stability balls, mini balls and bands.

Spinning – A fun and popular indoor group cycling class for cardiovascular and muscle conditioning.

Stretch – A combination of yoga, stretch and strengthening moves that will leave you feeling limber.

Strength and Balance – Strength training exercises combined with low impact cardio.

You’ve Got the Power – A fun and unique workout experience which combines elements of flowing movement, body sculpting, yoga stretches and Pilates mat work. Creatively and safely designed for all levels, this body/mind class encourages you to go at your own pace and may include circuit training, work with stability balls, yoga, dance and Zumba. Class ends with a calming guided relaxation. Work hard, have fun and rest well.
